I needed a 2 inch diameter cap with a threaded insert made for an expensive TAL Hydration 3 liter Thermos type container. (Manna Hydration sells one similar)
The threaded part in the cap had broken in two when the jug was dropped.
A search online found a 3D Printing Company in Regina, Sask. called U-Neek so I sent an email, pictures were then sent, then the parts were dropped off when Shari Bell indicated she could do the job.
Once completed, I picked up my newly manufactured cap.
When I got home it fit perfectly in its swing arm holder on top of the lid. This was important as it has a groove on the outside of the cap to hold it there.
Then it had to screw into the nozzle or spout on the 4.5 inch lid.
This had to be precise in order for it to work and it is perfect! It is just like new!
I had my doubts that this would be successful so obviously I’m extremely happy!
Manna sells replacement lid assemblies which includes the 4.5” lid, the cap and swing arm with 2 required gaskets but the shipping to Canada is cost prohibitive.
A cork stopper would have been a cheap solution to my problem but by finding U-Neek 3D Printing I’ve found someone that can make an intricate part at a reasonable price locally.
Now I’m searching for other things I can have made!
Thank you Shari Bell, you’re the best!
